Hi!
My
name is Gemma, also known as LeeLoo.
LeeLoo is my nickname given
to me many many years ago and has just stuck with me since.
I’ve
been living in the Netherlands since 2011, where I studied before at
the AKI ArtEZ, University of the Arts in Enschede.
Originally
I’m from a small town called Hastings in the United Kingdom.
There
I studied Fine Art & Design, for four years.
After that I
moved to the city of Plymouth in Devon. There I finished my study at
the University of Plymouth in Fine Art.
During the time I was at uni, I dediced to partake in an overseas study; where I joined the AKI in Enschede.
I
met my Dutch husband and later on I moved to the Netherlands
permanently.
You may wonder why after so many years of
living here in the Netherlands, why I don’t write in
Nederlands?
Well, I have a silly thing called Dyslexia. This
causes me extreme difficulty in reading and writing, but I only see
this as an extra challenge 😉
Having a conversation is mostly
not a problem though! I can understand most Nederlands and speak
Nederlands myself. So this is why and that is me! 🙂
So
what about my own work?
I work on many subjects such
as:
colours, virtual reality, space, futuristic ideas and
nature. I mostly work with acrylic paint.
What do I do in
my spare time?
I’m a mother of three and I like to help out at
the school where I make creative projects with the children and also
in groups 7 and 8, I will only talk in English to help them with
their language confidence.
I like to spend time when I can
at my allotment, where I grow many different types of vegetables and
flowers which I share in my neighbourhood.
I think that’s
enough about me for now, please have a look around on my website and
enjoy
